Chalk Tablet

This perfect list-sized tablet will replace any number of scraps on desktops, refrigerators, bedside tables et cetera. Available in oak or poplar.

Oak: Made from reclaimed oak from the 1800s - early 1900s, reclaimed black leather from early 1900s gun slings and chalkboard paint. The board is sanded smooth though may show signs of the wood's prior use such as nail burn holes, nails, bug holes etc. The back and sides are finished with natural tung oil and the sides are beveled. 

Poplar: The trees were cut down in the 1700s and were part of a farmhouse in West Chester Pennsylvania. The wood is lightweight and is very green. The green varies from light (the wood closer to the bark) to dark (the wood that was closer to the core). This wood is limited to the pieces that we have! The Poplar was used as enormous beams so the 'character' that we fid more often in other woods that we use is not super present in this. Most tablets so fair are fairly clean and simple.

Our chalk tablets are finished with reclaimed black leather from WWII gun holsters, chalkboard paint and tung oil. The board is sanded smooth though may show signs of the wood's prior use such as nail burn holes, nails, bug holes etc. The back and sides are finished with natural tung oil and the sides are beveled. There is a hole in the top for hanging or for connecting to tablet stand.

Each tablet comes with one Koh-I-Noor chalk pencil.*

*Koh-I-Noor chalk pencils bare a label which reads: "Warning: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer." The chemical in question is Titanium dioxide. Valued for its bright white pigment, titanium dioxide is used as the whitening agent not only in chalk but also in sunscreen, toothpaste, skim milk and white tattoo ink.
