The Rogue Backpack is ideally sized both for jam-packing or light toting! It is a modern re-creation of a classic scout pack and is steeped in the traditions of exploration and adventure. As one scout motto advises: ‘Better to have it when you need it, than to need it and not have it.’

We are delighted to present you with rucksack companions for any adventure – The Little Rogue Backpack and The (big) Rogue Backpack.

Custom Monogramming

Emmett, our laser engraving machine and in-house scribe, allows you to personalize our bags!

The monogram is laser-engraved on vegetable-tanned leather and attached with brass rivets (see the product photographs for an example). Note that the monogram does not replace the Peg and Awl brand. Be sure to include your wished-for letters in the order notes (up to 3) when placing your order! MONOGRAMMED BAGS ARE NOT RETURNABLE.

Just Right
A slightly extravagant present to self, replacing a simple duffel on the return leg of a recent trip to Texas. The Rogue holds everything the duffel did, but distributes the load across both shoulders, and nearer my center of gravity, and looks better doing it. Form following function, a true work of art. A Small Hunter Satchel straps right up to it as well, for days wandering.

My daily driver for years
I have had my rogue backpack since 2018. I have one of the original vintage gunsling bags. I've used this bag for all four years of my undergrad, my first year of working full time, and as my weekend/night bag for days away. It is the perfect bag. So rugged and strong. Looks incredible on. My one complaint was how thin the original gunsling straps were which was uncomfortable when lugging more than 20 pounds. I was able to rectify it by getting some padded leather shoulder straps made. I see that has been changed since I bought mine. I can't recommend peg and awl's products more. They're built for a lifetime and meant to be used, abused, repaired, and loved. My rogue has been my trusty companion for five years now, and I look forward to a lifetime more of travel and experiences with it.

Perfect Travel Companion!!
I have been looking for a travel companion to go with my Moss Weekender and Dopp bag. I found it with the Rogue Backpack. It is comfortable to wear and can hold a lot! I am a big fan of the Moss color! So happy I made the purchase. Thank you so much Peg and Awl!!
