This caddy is final sale and not eligible for returns.

This small desk caddy features one of Anna Atkins’ seaweed cyanotypes decoupaged on the front.

Anna Atkins was the first person to use photography to illustrate a book. Note – NOT the first woman, but the first human! She was an incredible illustrator and had illustrated some books for her father, but the discovery of Cyanotypes sent her into a new obsession. She began making photographic images of her extensive seaweed collection in 1843. She created thousands of cyanotype prints and sent them to libraries and other institutions in the mid-1800s for their collections – many of which remain today, including, of course, the collection at the New York Public Library!

Our desk caddies are great for those with more than a few stray pens. They range in size from small (4 holes) to epic (24 holes), suiting the needs of a variety of work spaces.

Each caddy will vary in grain and indications of the wood’s prior use.

    Practical and eye-catching

The Anna Atkins desk caddy combines practicality and beauty in a small, well-made object. Much better than storing pens and pencils, small brushes or other small items in a boring drinking glass or throwing them in a drawer!
