Scholar Pouch with 1920s Japanese Textile No. 5: Sparrow No. 1
$48.00
This a one of a kind pouch – you will receive the pouch shown in the photographs. This pouch is final sale and is not eligible for coupon code discounts.
Constructed from twice repurposed textiles from 1920s Japan, this new batch of pouches is one of our favourites! This summer I found a short stack of vintage Japanese scarves constructed from a variety of antique textiles. They are adorned with delicious patterns and tones of blue and white, and have just the right amount of fading, wear, hand stitching and patchwork.
If you love pouches, you are in for a treat! We transformed our textile stack into Drafter and Scholar pouches (see all styles here) and lined them with our Slate waxed canvas. These pouches are perfect for art supplies, make-up, or anything else that needs organizing in your bag or on your desk – it’s hard to be without them and you can never have too many!
Our Scholar pouch is great for pencils, pens, cords and other necessities. Use as a clutch or toss in your bag for a little more organization!
Constructed waxed canvas originated in the sailing industry in Scotland in the 1920s and became widely used in sportswear and apparel because of its waterproofing abilities and superb durability.
