We love scavenger hunts and the uncovering of obscure, lost souls. (Object’s souls, of course.) The first All Black Tote was the result of a magical discovery - a really special antique black gunsling. This little wonder inspired the first, black and white lined, black zippered, black leathered tote!

Since the first, there has been great interest surrounding this little dear. We scour and search in places that we scour and search, and at times are able to uncover more. As a result, we just finished a batch of these goodies - a small batch - mind you. 

The general construct is the same as our classic tote, but here are the details that make it different:

1. The shoulder strap is a very thick black gun sling from WWII, in the case of this batch, with a lot of metal details along the strap - shown in photographs. 
2. Closure and handles are also made from black (soft and fantastic!) antique gunslings. 
3. Black and White fabric lining the inside pocket.

Waxed canvas originated in the sailing industry in Scotland in the 1920s and became widely used in sportswear and apparel because of its waterproofing abilities and superb durability. The Waxed Canvas Tote from Peg and Awl boasts the permanence of this wonder-material while also incorporating vintage fabric lined-pockets, reclaimed leather straps and closures (from antique WWII gun slings) brass rivets and Sam Browne buttons. This is the holy grail in unisex carryall totes, practical and perfect in every way. This tote was built to endure. Load it up, bring it everywhere.

The adjustable shoulder strap is made from antique leather. It is detachable and measures 45 inches for a range of about 43 inches to 35 inches. There is a large external pocket and several internal pockets. The internal pockets include two 5.5 inch pockets, two pen/pencil pockets and one 2 inch pocket.
