Medium Leather Journal with Quote
Here at Peg and Awl we are traditionally quite traditional. Yet we have lately enjoyed experimenting with modernity – combining the traditional with the neoteric – and it has proved quite a magical combination!
So here we shall introduce, Emmett – our laser machine. With Emmett’s assistance, we have been able to add some of our favourite handwritten quotes – from the journal of yours truly – to the covers of our leather journals.
Our collection of journals are made using archival insides and covers of leather scrap, rescued from their fate of the garbage bin from a local upholsterer’s shoppe. We line them with antique fabric from the late 1800s to early 1900s, a charming detail that makes your journal yours only.
Inside you’ll find line-free Strathmore drawing paper – thick, hand-torn, acid-free pages that work perfectly with ink, pens both thick and superfine, pencil, charcoal, and a myriad of other mediums. The pages are each hand-stitched with archival linen binder’s thread, shaped and re-enforced with linen tape and tarlatan and finished with a red and golden headband. The books can be carried daily and beat up. They are strong creatures, with no two alike which, making them each quite special.
