We started making desk caddies in the early years of Peg and Awl and they lived on until our move to the Barn. After a break, it was fun to make more for this small batch of all four sizes in Oak. We’ve never made our caddies in Oak and they are gorgeous – have a look!

I recently began converting my Dad's office into my studio space, as he has departed the mortal realm. My Dad was an artist and a maker, a carver, barbershop singer, and he loved a good joke. And he loved wood. He would have appreciated the craftsmanship in these so much.
He was 87 when he passed, and he'd been telling me for awhile: "If there's something you want to do, sweetie, just start now. You'll get old before you know it and your hands won't work." That is why my caddy says Just Start Now. Every day, we wake up, and we have the chance to create- how glorious to have the tools spread out so satisfyingly in a container made by a fellow artist. Thank you for these wonderful tools, they really made the space complete and functional in a very grounding way.

I am THRILLED with my epic size desk caddy, I had a smaller one (from another maker!!) that was very lightweight and my top heavy tools CONSTANTLY would knock it over so when I saw these in oak, I knew it was time. The craftsmanship is exquisite, it shipped securely and holds my Pfeil relief carving tools well. I can certainly fit more in this than I have but for now, it's holding plenty! It came just under 8 pounds when I weighed it and it absolutely will not tip on me (unlikey other one!) the quote I requested came out perfectly, beautiful work as always from this lovely team!
