I am rarely without paper and pen. There are so many astonishments, so many tumbling thoughts to capture. Our Orra Sketchbooks are thin hand-bound books that are ideal companions for small projects and daily excursions. They are named for Orra White Hitchcock, a 19th century botanical, geologic, and zoological artist, an illustrator to whom no detail was too small to be recorded in her art. Made from high quality Strathmore drawing paper, Legion cover stock, and hand-stitched with linen, these versatile sketchbooks can take on a variety of media including pen and ink, watercolor, and graphite.
Available in Black, Grey, or White, with green thread.
Available in 3 sizes: Landscape, Portrait, and Large Portrait. The Landscape and Portrait are designed to fit into our Mini and classic Sendak Artist Rolls. They also fit into our Hunter Satchel – my favorite bag for the days when I want to carry only the necessities!

For many years I've been photographing birds and recently I decided to try and draw them. When I saw that 'birdtober' was a thing, I ordered the Sendak and a trio of these sketchbooks. It was so easy to get the month off to a great start and I did indeed draw 31 birds in October. The paper is nice and the pencil flows across - mistakes erase easily w/o damaging the paper. And the perfect fit into the back of the Sendak make them...well... PERFECT! - Thank you!

I recently purchased the small Sendak Artist Roll for our trip to the Greek Islands. I needed a sketchbook to use as a journal for writing, drawing and watercoloring . The paper weight is ideal. I'm sure the pages will not buckle with light painting and, even if they do, it will add to the artistry. It also fits perfectly in my Sendak Roll. So, I immediately bought another!
