Constructed waxed canvas originated in the sailing industry in Scotland in the 1920s and became widely used in sportswear and apparel because of its waterproofing abilities and superb durability.

I started with a Spender Pouch. The card slots in my wallet just didn't seem big enough for the cards, and a pouch, while a radical idea, was worth a try. But even with the pouch, I found it hard to get the cards in and out. Maybe I suffer from a dearth of fine motor skills. It's possible. I decided to try the Saver Pouch. It's just a little bigger, with a little more room at the bottom. Well, it's just the thing! There's plenty of room now to search through my cards, and they go in and out very easily. It even hangs out of my pocket by a little bit, making it easy to grab when I need it. The Slate colorway goes very well with jeans or chinos, and it's nice to carry Peg & Awl with me wherever I go.

I decided to get this one to match me Waxed Canvas Tote. I am normally a black, white, or dark brown color kinda person so I went wild with this! It was great! Due to Margaux and our wonderful Instagram conversations, I’ve started to make my own journals. I love the circles around the rivets (?) on the Peg & Awl leather label. It shows me the hand made quality of how these are made.
